Last Day Of Chemo

Hey guys its Jesse. This morning was my last time of chemo! Yesterday sucked I was sick all day and today I still feel a little sick. I now have the throat soars that the chemo causes. Its terrible! It hurts sooo bad!

My ANC count for today is 1095 its falling pretty fast, the plan for today is that i will be getting red blood cells, IVIG, and a dressing change, yay!

Last night Dakota and I played guitar hero. She is totally awesome!!! Me, I still get booed off. Its fun to do something that feeling like I'm not in a hospital, kind of felt like I was at home. Its nice having her here because this is really hard and she comforts me.
Lindsay is coming down sometime in January!!! I am so excited! Cant wait to go home and have the feeling of our family all together =)

There isn't much really to say still cant keep food down and don't feel good, but thank you for all of your prayers =)

Hey My Jesse Dee,
So you felt at home playing guitar hero, does that mean you where standing on the bed rocking out. I have come home to find my girls playing guitar hero and standing on the coffee table-to funny!!! I love you two, and wish I could be there. As soon as my cold is gone, I will be your roomy. I also am terrible at guitar hero, so Jesse you will have someone to beat.

Hey Hotrod.
Guess who? This is so simple even your Dad can do it...I think. Just knod your head if you are getting this.
I don't know why this is happening to me. I get all teary eyed just typing (one finger pecking) out a note to you. You have stolen my "man-cards" and left me with a heart of mush. I will never be able to watch a chick-flick in public again.
I feel so bad that I can't be there with you. I am sure you have more fun playing games and hanging out with Jo and Matt. I just want to be there for you to lean on when you need a shoulder and a hug. I need to hug your skinny body and rub your head/hair because you never let me touch your hair when it's all combed and styled. I miss you Jesse. I hope to be well enough to spend Saturday night with you but I hope you know (and everyone else on the planet better be thinking this way) there is NO WAY we will take ANY chances with infections! This is life and death stuff! And we will have a long time later to spend time me catching you in the kitchen and messing up your hair. I am not there physically but when you get sad and hurting just stop a second and you will feel my arms around you holding you with all the love a father could possibly have for his little girl.
Be sure to rinse your mouth with the Scope and Biotin as often as you think about it.
I love you Jess. And tell your sister I love her just as much and am so proud of her for stepping up and helping Mom and I so much.
Wow. Thats a lot of typing for an old man. Love you guys Dad

Hi there Jesse,

Congratulations Last Chemo Day! I can't even imagagine how happy you must be to have completed this round. I'm sorry to hear the crappy effects it's having on you though :( i'm praying you will start feeling better right away so that you can enjoy the time you have at home with you family. But by the way I am pretty sure I am way worse at guitar hero than you are, I once played a game without hitting a single note, then a friend of mine offered to push the fret buttons for me so all I had to do was strum on beat. . . and I still got booed off lol :P Anyway I'm glad to hear that you and Dakota have been having a good time and making the best of your hospital stay, she loves you like crazy. Well I can't wait to read more good news :)

Praying for you always,
-Jordyn Hamrick

Jesse Meg is at the school so I will make sure she sees this... You HAVE to get better at Guitar Hero. Although it is nice that someone else matches me. I stink at GH. I am sorry for throat sores. Will they allow you to gargle some ginger? It might sting but it numbs the pain. Found it when Acid Reflux went full tilt this last year.

Can I come and play GH too? Maybe your mom and I can get better at it! They have GH competitions!

I've been challenging Meg to DR MARIO and getting better at it.

DEE: Hope you get better fast!

Good afternoon, Jesse!

I am SO happy you are finished with this round of chemo. Be strong. Be brave.

You know what? Even at my age, because of my three sons, I am the bonified Guitar Hero and Rock Band addict. :o)

I absolutely love to play those games with my boys, then they start getting upset with me because I like to stay on it all the time and not give them a chance to play. LOL

Again, we are keeping you in our prayers and look forward to your full recovery.

Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet your dad. It was funny because we work for the same company and I have been here for four years, but we both work on different projects and teams.

You are very lucky to have such loving parents and siblings amd such a great support system!

Have a good day!

Hey Jesse,

Great to see you blogging to us as well.

Sorry that you have to deal with the throat issue now as well. Keep rinsing.

The tears are streaming down my face and I read what your parents wrote to you and Dakota. You are both incredibly strong young ladies and your parents can be so proud of the way that you are handling yourself through this time in your life.

Don't you worry at all about the Guitar Hero. No one is worse at any type of video game than I am. I can hardly work the remote for the televsion. Ha Ha

Anyway, Praying for you that this recovery time is quicker and that you are home soon with your family and yes, standing on YOUR bed or where ever else it is that you want to stand and play GH at HOME.....

God's Blessings

Good evening Girls,
It is 10:30 here, and I feel like it is much later. We went to see Grandpa's sister, Hazel, today. She lives 60 plus miles away, which isn't bad, as it is Interstate most of the way. However, when we go to see Hazel, we stop at a little town on the way to see his Aunt Lucille. Then we go to Hazel's. On the way home, we stopped to see his Aunt Lib (Elizabeth). We have mini prayer meetings at each house. After that, we stopped at a little store/cafe and had cheeseburgers and fries. (We always try to do that, as the food is so good, and HOT.) Then we got to Wytheville and had to stop 3 places to pick up Avon orders. Then to Max Meadows for the mail, then home. And it was pouring down rain the whole day, which was nice, as it was much warmer than snow, and the country really needs it. But it is a tireing trip. We left about 10:30 AM and got home about 6 PM.
I thought of you as I ate, and prayed a silent prayer that it won't be long before you enjoy cheeseburgers again. (A tiny, tiny one to start with.)
I love giving you Grandmotherly advise and knowing you will do the same with it as your Dad did with motherly advise! LOL. This is not advise, just a comment on something I learned a long time ago. Chloreseptic spray is really good for sore throats. It has a numbing ingredient to stop the pain. I know there are somethings you can't take, but it does work. I use the cough drops quite often.
I don't know much about Guitar Hero, but have gotten pretty good at putting jigsaw puzzles together. I guess that is a little different catagory, huh?
So glad this round of chemo is over. We are all praying your recovery will be quick and much less painful. I am so thankful for what God is doing for you! He loves you so much, and is so proud of you! You are His cherished one. Which reminds me: are you and Dakota having Bible studies? That would be something neat to do to pass the time.
Okay, I am through. We love you girls bushels and pecks and hugs around your necks.

Jesse,

Congratulations on making in to the last day! You and your sister are an inspiration. I can relate to the Guitar Hero thing, my poor fingers just aren't that fast. Maybe when your Dad and Mom get better you can do the whole Rock Band experience. I am praying for your health continually and a speedy recovery home for Christmas.

Blessings and Prayers sending your way.
